Ingredients: 1 stick (1/2 cup) butter, softened; 3/4 cup sugar; 1 egg; 1/2 cup orange juice; 2 cups flour; 1/2 teaspoon baking powder; 1/2 teaspoon baking soda; 1/2 teaspoon salt; 2 cups powdered sugar; 2 tablespoons butter, softened; 4-5 tablespoons orange juice

Ingredients

1 Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Have ready a large ungreased cookie sheet. 2 In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until completely mixed. 3 In a small bowl, beat egg. Add egg and orange juice to the butter/sugar mixture. Mix well. These are your wet ingredients. 4 In a large bowl measure: flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Stir with a fork. These are your dry ingredients. 5 Add your wet ingredients to your dry ingredients and mix well. 6 Drop by heaping teaspoonfuls onto an ungreased cookie sheet. 7 Bake at 400 degrees for 7-12 minutes, until lightly browned. 8 Allow to cool completely. Spread tops with frosting (see following recipe) and serve. 9 Frosting 10 Using the back of a spoon, blend butter into powdered sugar. 11 Stir in orange juice one tablespoon at a time, until a smooth frosting is formed. 12 *Note: Frosting is best stored in the refrigerator if not used right away; frosted cookies are best kept in the freezer.
